Will provide a progress report on the Albany Convention Center
ALBANY, NY – March 21, 2010 – Gavin J. Donohue, the Chair of the Albany Convention Center Authority, will address the Albany Roundtable on Wednesday, April 14.
The Albany Roundtable luncheon meetings are held at the historic University Club, 141 Washington Avenue at Dove Street in Albany, but remain open to the public.
The Albany Convention Center Authority (ACCA) was created in 2004 as a public benefit corporation under the New York State Public Authorities Act. The ACCA was created to meet an immediate need to institute a comprehensive, coordinated program of convention activities in the City of Albany with the goal of building and maintaining a convention center and hotel.
“The new convention center will become an important part of the revitalized downtown,” said Donohue. “We look forward to opportunities like this to meet with area residents and other stakeholders to ensure the best fit of this new center within the rich historic fabric of Albany’s downtown.”
In addition to chairing the board of the ACCA, Mr. Donohue is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Power Producers of New York, Inc. (IPPNY), a statewide trade association organized in 1986 as a not-for-profit corporation.
This luncheon is sponsored by NAI Platform Realty.
